PETE GREIG - Plenary Speaker

It was in Hong Kong, while working with the missionary Jackie Pullinger in her outreach to the poor, that Pete Greig received what he describes as ‘a clear call from God to go home to England’. Inspired by his experiences in Hong Kong, Pete decided to study Theology & Sociology at the University of Greenwich in London. After graduating, Pete moved to Chichester on the South Coast of England and worked with young adults with severe Learning Disabilities.

In 1994, Pete married Samie and for seven years served vocationally on the senior leadership team of Revelation Church, a non-denominational group of congregations in and around Chichester on the south coast of England. During this time, Pete and Samie established two new congregations for young people beyond the reach of traditional church culture.  Pete also served nationally on the core team of ‘Cultural Shift’, a catalytic gathering of young leaders experimenting with fresh expressions of church within the emerging, post-Christian culture.

From 2004-05, the Greig family returned to England from Kansas City where they spent a fun year establishing a national office for 24-7 Prayer (USA).  They now live in Guildford, Surrey, on the outskirts of London, where Pete helps lead a church and training centre (‘Boiler Room’) whilst serving as Director of Prayer for Alpha International at Holy Trinity Brompton and International Director of 24-7 Prayer.  Pete also sits on the Executive of the International Prayer Council.
